Despite claims by the producers and promotional materials, as well as the film's title, that this would be the final film in the "Final Destination" series, a fifth film, Final Destination 5 (2011) was released two years later.

(at around 1h 6 mins) The movie theatre is named Tagert Theatres. "Tagert" is the name of director David R. Ellis' daughter.

"The Salon Dante" opens at 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. everyday, and closed on Monday. This also hints to the fact that someone will die there, as Military Time for 6:00 p.m. is 18:00.

The race track is called "McKinley Speedway" which was the name of the town, high school, and character Ian McKinley (Kris Lemche) in Final Destination 3 (2006).

Hunt's death is reminiscent of the Chuck Palahniuk short story "Guts", which is about a boy whose intestines are sucked out by a pool filter's inlet pump when he sits on it. It is also similar to one real life incident; in 2007 a young girl met the same fate and died in 2008 suffering complications after having had small bowel, liver, and pancreas transplants.

The "Final Destination" series began when Flight 180 crashed in Final Destination (2000). At the race track, the victims are seated in section 180 (as shown on a sign behind them) and later, while viewing video camera footage, the video camera footage briefly shows the number on the screen indicating which seating section the camera records. A bus that is seen passing the café is clearly marked on the roof as number 180.

(at around 13 mins) The coffee shop is called "Death by Caffeine", and naturally has several death related items on its menu. These include "Knocking On Death's Door Latte", "Iced Mocha Fatality", "Iced Vanilla Demise", "Frozen Chai Casualty", "Last Exit Truffles", and "River Of Sticks Biscotti".

(at around 1h 13 mins) The "Aynx" City Bus in the last scene is actually called Lynx. It is the local bus transportation system for the city of Orlando and most of Central Florida. The last scene was reshot in the New York section of the theme park Universal Studios Orlando.
