If you try to determine the locales of the story, observing traffic can be very confusing, especially at the beginning of the film. This movie was filmed in the UK, US and PRC, and all but a small portion of the movie is supposed to take place in the UK, including Northern Ireland; thus, most driving should be British-style. The US and PRC drive on the right side. The UK drives on the left. The vehicles are a mix of right- and left-hand drive. In the London scenes especially, there is a confusing mix of driving and parking. Sometimes characters and traffic are driving on one side but when the scene cuts they are driving on the other side. There's also a mixture within scenes of how cars are parked; some are the UK way, and others are not. This goes on throughout the film.

Roadshow Films, the movie's Australian distributor, effectively dumped the movie in a dozen cinemas in major cities and spent little on advertising.

The clock at the airport when the police officer takes Wood's laptop shows 2:59:38, just before 3 pm. The bomb inside the laptop explodes exactly after 22 seconds of real-time action.

The name of Jackie Chan's character, "Quan Ngoc Minh", suggests that he is Vietnamese with Chinese origin, as "Quan Ngoc Minh" is a Vietnamese name, but Quan is not a common Vietnamese surname (first name and last name are reversed in some Asian culture, in Western format his name would be Minh Ngoc Quan").

The bus explosion was tested in the car park of Artem Ltd., the special effects company that did all of the physical effects in this movie. When the bus exploded on Lambeth Bridge, there were two technicians on-board to set it off.

This movie reunited director Martin Campbell with Pierce Brosnan, after working together on GoldenEye (1995). This is also the second time Campbell worked with cinematographer David Tattersall, after Vertical Limit (2000).
