In the comics, the judges always wear their armored shoulder pads and gloves on duty, in this film when they aren't on the streets they wear an indoor uniform without armor or gloves. The higher ranking judges wear black and gold shoulder rank devices, these were created for this film and aren't seen in the comics.

During the editing process, "Strawberry Fields Forever" by The Beatles was used as a temporary original song for the glider scene. When Michael LeGrand was asked to compose a song to take it's place, he took Quincy Jones' advice to work with the Bergmans to compose "The Windmills of Your Mind" and a second song, "His Eyes, Her Eyes".
