  • Outlaw King - Trivia, Questions and Fun Facts

  • This film sets the record straight on some facts that had been changed for Braveheart (1995); King Edward I lived on for several years following the death of William Wallace, and died during one of his campaigns in Scotland (in Braveheart, both men die at the same time); neither Robert the Bruce nor his father was implicated in the betrayal of William Wallace (in Braveheart, Robert was partially responsible for the lost battle of Falkirk, and his father was involved in Wallace' capture). Furthermore, Braveheart implied that following Wallace' death, Robert was merely at Bannockburn to formally surrender to the English, and the ensuing battle was a spur of the moment; this film shows that Robert had actually been leading a long campaign that led him to confront the English at Bannockburn, culminating in a decisive victory.
