(At around 6 mins) A Hare Krishna devotee at the airport distributes a pamphlet with a death-related title to Alex, foreboding the tragic events that follow.

Alex asks Clear, "How do we know that by sipping this coffee, or breathing the air, or even crossing the intersection that we haven't set in motion the events that could lead to our deaths?" When Terry steps out onto the intersection, she is hit by a bus and killed.

The first theatrically released teen horror film to not feature a corporeal murderer. The only other theatrically released horror films, to date, to also not feature a visible murderer killing off teenagers are: "Ouija" (2014), "Unfriended" (2014), and "Truth or Dare" (2018), all of which are Jason Blum produced Blumhouse features.

A film called "Encounters With The Unknown" (1973) has three supernatural stories. One story is about three teen boys who are blamed for the death of another boy by his mother. She cursed them to die. One boy dies in a plane crash. He is one of seven victims who die in the airplane; the same number of people (seven) that got off of Flight 180 in this film.

Not only does this film borrow footage of the crash of TWA Flight 800, it borrows other things as well. The July 17th, 1996 flight was carrying a high school French club, it exploded suddenly and was investigated for a possible deliberate act causing the accident - first a bomb, then a surface to air missile. As with this film, it was ultimately decided that the crash was a result of mechanical failure (explosion in the central fuel tank).
