The title of the film (as well as the novel upon which it was based) refers to the fact that, according to myth, vampires must be invited in before they can enter someone's home (this is shown in the film when Eli asks Oskar to invite her into his apartment). The English-translated title of the book and film, "Let The Right One In," is taken from lyrics to the song "Let the Right One Slip In" by Morrissey.

Oskar is threatened by the bullies to hold his breath underwater at a pool for 3 minutes because he hit one of the bullies and badly damaged his ear. While he's underwater, Eli suddenly kills the bullies. The next and final scene is Oskar and Eli on a train; Eli is in a box (to protect herself from sunlight) next to Oskar and they're communicating in Morse code by tapping on the box...

Yulaw kills Gabes wife and they have a final showdown at a facotry. Gabe opts not to kill Yulaw and instead helps Funsch send him to a penal colony universe. Gabe is sent to a different universe where he meets a different version of his wife, and they fall in love all over again. The last scene is Yulaw fighting hundreds of convicts and proclaiming he will still find a way to become The One.
