Evil Dead ending explained (spoilers)

		Teenage Girl - Possessed by the Deadite, her soul is purified when she is lit on fire by her father. The fatherthen shoots her in the head with a shotgun. 			Grandpa, the dog -The pooch is found beaten to death with a claw-hammer. 			Olivia - Becomes possessed after Mia pukes blood down her throat. She manages to carve off part of her own face and attack Ericbefore Eric bashes her skull in with a toilet lid. 			Natalie - She is assaulted by Mia and bit on the hand. Natalie cuts off her infected arm with an electricmeat carver but succumbs to her massive trauma. She is possessed and attacks Eric and David. Eric kills her by bashing her head in with a crowbar. 			Eric - He is stabbed with shards of a mirror, stabbed in the eye with a needle, shot with a nail gun and has some of his fingers chopped off. He is ultimately killed by Mia when stabbed in the stomach by a box cutter. He comes back as a possessed demon, and is killed when David blows up the cabin. 			David - He is stabbed, injured by a shotgun blast, shot with a nail gun and almost drowned. The fatal blow comes when a possessed Eric stabs him in the neck with some nails. Before he dies, he shoots a gas can, blowing up himself and Eric along with the cabin. 			Deadite/Evil Mia - The demon attacks Mia, slicing openMia's kneecap and arm and even causing Mia to lose her hand (Mia's hand is pinned under a Jeep that the demon throws at her). The resourceful Mia survives these injuries and manages to cut off the Deadite's leg with a chainsaw. Miathen jams the chainsaw downtheinjured Deadite'sthroat and cuts it completely in half. The demon's body sinks back into the ground.

David buries the possessed Mia alive, freeing her of the demon. Mia crawls out of the dirt and hugs David. As they are about to leave the cabin, the possessed Eric attacks David and he is forced to burn down the cabin with him inside. It starts raining blood and a demon attacks Mia. She gets her hand torn off, but dices the demon up with a chainsaw. The blood stops raining and it seems the demons are gone, but as Mia leaves the cabin, the Book of the Dead shuts itself, leaving it open for a sequel.

At the end of the credits we see Ash (Bruce Campbell) from the previous films, in shadow, saying Groovy.

It turns out that when the dad fell asleep at the wheel in the beginning of the movie, he ended up crashing the car into the mysterious lady in white that they kept seeing throughout the movie. This car crash between them killed the entire family instantly (Brad Miller, Richard Harrington, Laura Harrington, Frank Harrington, as well as the lady in white and her little baby daughter). The only one to survive is Marion Harrington, and she is pregnant.

The whole entire drive down that quiet road after the crash was all a nightmare that Marion had and the rest of her family was already dead. But she doesnt know this, it seems like they are still alive and her dream seems so real to her. When, in her dream, it was only Marion left alive, she is confronted with the black car she kept seeing, which is a hearse. The lady in white says to Marion, Hes not here for you as the lady in white gets into the car. Marion then wakes up in the hospital.

The doctor taking care of her was Dr. Helen Marcott. Marion worked that name into her dream from hearing the name, hence the Marcott sign that the family saw and never made it to. So in all, it was basically Death, if you will, coming to claim the familys souls one-by-one. The reason that they seemed to be on the never-ending road is because you can say that it was almost a state of purgatory/limbo that the family would be in until every soul was claimed. When the lady in White is shown at the end, and tells Marion hes not here for her, its her saying that she will live. Then Dr. Marcott meets up with that guy in the black car (who discovered the accident on the road) and told him she liked his car. Hers wouldnt start, so she got a ride from him - becoming his next victim.

But actually the end credits scene show two workers cleaning up the accident and finding the paper that the dad wrote saying the things he wanted to do when it was all over. So then... all that really did happen.
