Denzel Washington steals money in order to pay off the Russian mafia so they wont kill him. Denzel leaves Ethan Hawke to die but the Mexican gangsters spare him because the girl Hawke saved near the beginning of the film is one of their cousins. Hawke stops Denzel from getting the money and takes the money away as evidence. Denzel is gunned down by the Russian mafia while hes driving down the highway.
