Furious 7 - Trivia, Questions and Fun Facts

-
As of April 17, 2015, Furious 7 (2015) became the first movie of the year to reach one billion dollars at the box-office. It was also the fastest movie to reach this feat in the time of just seventeen days. In addition, it is Universal Pictures' first billion-dollar movie at the box-office in its original run. The film had a domestic gross of 273 million dollars and a foreign gross of 735 million dollars.
-
After Paul Walker's death, production on the film resumed in late March/early April of 2014. Vin Diesel announced on social media that filming had wrapped on July 10, 2014, one day before the films original release date of July 11, 2014.
-
The sequence in the Middle East, where they need to steal a computer part from a high-tech car, then jump it between two buildings is a remake of the climax of Black Moon Rising (1986).
-
This is Paul Walker's final Fast and Furious film.
-
In all 7 Fast films up to this one Dom only beats Brian once in a race when driving fair (the four-car quarter mile in the first film). He defeats Brian in Fast 4 but uses a PIT manoeuvre which would be illegal in a straight race. Brian either beats Dom in every other race or they draw.
-
In the entire Fast and Furious franchise, Roman never calls Dom by his first name. The only time he does call him by name is in the sequel to this film The Fate of The Furious.
-
Ronda Rousey and Michelle Rodriguez have a fight scene. This is the second time Rodriguez has fought a female MMA fighter in a Fast and Furious movie, the first being Gina Carano in Fast & Furious 6 (2013).
-
Dwayne Johnson carries out his wrestling finishing maneuver called "Rock Bottom" on Jason Statham. He previously performed the move in The Rundown (2003).
-
Director James Wan's first movie outside of the horror genre since Death Sentence (2007).
-
The red car seen in the Etihad Tower sequence is a W Motors Lykan Hypersport. W Motors is a Lebanese company that planned to make only seven Hypersports.
-
Gal Gadot originally reprised her role as Gisele and had filmed her scenes where Gisele takes Letty to the hospital after Letty was injured from her car explosion caused by Fenix from Fast and Furious (2009), but her scenes were cut. Despite receiving top billing, she is only ever seen via archive footage and a photograph.
-
Immediately before the building-jump sequence at the Etihad Towers penthouse, Brian describes to Dom the real-life car that they are getting into, in detail: a 3.4 million dollar Lykan HyperSport, only seven of which have been made (not including the stunt cars used for filming). Once they get into the car, however, Brian is represented with CGI, because the latter part of the scene was filmed after Paul Walker's death.
-
The guard rail that the heroes stand near overlooking Los Angeles is the same road/parking lot that Brian initially tests his Eclipse from the first movie.
-
Justin Lin did not return to direct this movie. As the studio wanted to produce Furious 7 (2015) on an accelerated schedule for release in summer 2014, Lin would have had to begin pre-production on this film while performing post-production on Fast & Furious 6 (2013), which he considered would affect the quality of the final product.
-
According to James Wan, the title is "Furious 7", referencing the movie Seven Samurai (1954).
-
Second unit filming took place in Colorado where, after two days of photography, record-setting amounts of rain slammed the set, forcing filming to briefly shut down.
-
If Universal had pursued the accelerated development of the seventh film (shooting it back-to-back with Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Dwayne Johnson would have been unable to participate, due to scheduling conflicts with filming on Hercules (2014). However, the start date was delayed long enough that Hercules (2014) had finished production by the time Furious 7 (2015) began filming.
-
Before this movie was released, Vin Diesel announced that there will be three more movies after this one.
-
The song heard during the Race Wars scene is "Delirious" by Steve Aoki. His sister, Devon Aoki, played Suki in 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003).
