Laraine Newman played the part of Connie Conehead on Saturday Night Live (1975). In this movie, Connie is played by Michelle Burke. Newman appeared in the film as a Conehead aunt.

When Ronnie and Connie are "honing" you can hear a song playing in the background, which is "Soul To Squeeze" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In the music video, a conehead appears and Chris Farley can be seen driving a truck.

When Jane Curtain is lying in the hotel bed laughing, the book she is reading is a Gideon's-placed Holy Bible. The section she is reading is the Book of Revelations about the end of the world. Knowing how it would actually happen - a Conehead invasion - the strange creatures described in the Bible would be hilarious.
