For their 1982 world tour, the last line of band's performance rider specified a bowl of M&Ms, with all of the brown ones removed, in the dressing room. It was a way to make sure that the rider had been followed. If brown M&Ms were present, the band could call off the gig. According to Snopes.com, the band saw brown M&Ms in the dressing room at one Colorado arena. David Lee Roth admitted trashing the dressing room, causing $12,000 worth of damage. Because the rider wasn't followed completely, the stage set sank through the arena floor, causing $80,000 worth of damage.
